Wanganella Cottage
About This Listing
A peaceful cottage retreat by the Billabong Creek. With cottage gardens to relax in, a free tennis court next door, directly opposite a large park with play equipment for the little ones and direct access to the creek for swimming, fishing or even a kayak this is the dream spot for a relaxing getaway. Half an hour from Deniliquin, this fully self contained cottage offers peace and tranquility at the gateway to the NSW Outback!
This little cottage offers three bedrooms that can sleep up to 6 guests.
Room 1: Double Bed
Room 2: Queen Bed
Room 3: Bunks (x2 single beds) and a portable cot is also available.
All linen for beds is supplied including towels you can use down by the creek after a swim.
With a verandah out the back, you'll probably want to spend most of your time taking in the serenity of the cottage gardens. We even have a large BBQ, so on those warm nights you can cook up a storm then simply sit back and watch the sunset over the Billabong from the porch.
The kitchen is fully self contained and tea/coffee/sugar/milk is provided. We also have an array of herbs, spices and condiments for your use. Plus a wonderful vegetable garden we encourage guests to pick their own product from. On request (and for an additional fee) we can organise a breakfast hamper, grazing box or even a dinner hamper for you. Just let us know before check-in, as we don't live onsite. Yep, you have this whole place to yourself!
The yard is fenced and we welcome pets (strictly outdoors only) . With an XXL crate, XL kennel, bowls, leads, ties, bedding and toys for your fur kids to enjoy.
With some children's toys, videos, tennis gear to use on the free courts next door and board games - there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Just note that there are breakable items on display throughout the home, a wood heater and given the location on the Billabong, kids must be supervised at all times. We welcome families but please keep an eye on the little ones and respect our home.
Walking distance to the Wanganella Licensed Store, if you need supplies or simply can't be bothered cooking you can head next door for a freshly cooked meal. They aren't open on Sunday though, so be sure to grab some supplies so you can cook up a feast at the cottage yourself on Sunday's.
Located directly opposite the Wanganella Hall and park, there's plenty of space for the kids to run and play, or climb the new play equipment. With direct access to the Billabong Creek (the world's longest creek!) and even access for a boat, you can walk out the back door and meander down to the creeks edge for a swim, paddle or fish. Or simply have a picnic and spot the many rare and even endangered birds that call this place home. Next door is a beautifully maintained tennis court that is free to use and we even have a couple of tennis racquets and balls you can borrow.
Located at what's known as the entry to the New South Wales Outback, this is a place of vast beauty with the largest starry skies you can imagine. If you have a camera, be sure to pack it, as the sunsets out here will blow you away.
